Well connected to Mumbai and other major cities by
air, rail, road and a limited catamaran service. The nearest airport to
Goa is the Dabolim Airport, 30 km from Panaji. It is well connected by
regular flights to all the major cities of India. The international
tourists can however land up at Mumbai airport and take a flight to
Dabolim from there.
The Konkan railway has Madgaon as its main station from where plenty of
trains ply regularly between Maharashtra and Karnataka. A wide rail
network connects the Madgaon station to Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore,
Trivandrum and other major cities. Goa is also well linked to other
cities by a smooth network of National Highways. Overnight coaches and
buses keep plying on this route for the tourists. Some people even drive
down to Goa from Mumbai to be able explore this wonderland on their own
and enjoy the scenic beauty on the way. Moreover, the lack of metered
taxis and an erratic public transport at Goa also offer a reason to have
your own vehicle. One can even hire a Riding pillion on motorcycle taxis
which is a popular and rather inexpensive option.
