Situated
on the western coastline of the Indian Peninsula between the latitudes
15°48'00" to 14°53'54" North and 74° 20'13"
to 73° 40'33" East, the state of Goa is bordered by the states
of Maharashtra in the north and Karnataka in the south. Beautifully
sandwiched between the Arabian Sea in the West and the Western Ghats in
the east, this 125 kms coastline is famous for housing some of the most
popular beaches in the country.
Panaji, the capital of the state is about 592 km from Banglore and 593
km from Mumbai. The geographical and cultural distinctions of the state
divide it into two parts namely the North Goa and the South Goa. The
northern region of the state is popular for a rocking nightlife whereas
the southern part is home to many old monuments and forts.
