Leh: Leh, the largest town of Ladakh situated at 10,800ft above sea level, had remained the capital of Ladakh Kingdom for long time. It comprises of 112 villages. It is 434kms from Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir and 474kms from Manali in Hamachal Pradesh. Leh has very interesting places to offer. The main tourist attractions of Leh are eye captivating beautiful valleys, Leh Palace, Monastries, Leh Mosque, Tsemo Gompa, Stok Palace.

Leh Palace: The Leh Palace is reflects Tibetan architecture. Its architecture has been inspired by the Potala Palace in Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. Built in 17th century, the Palace was the home of royal family and had 9 storeys. You'll find Buddhist wall paintings, old painted scrolls and other artifacts in the Leh Palace.

Monastries and Gompas: Leh is famous for its Buddhist monasteries and gompas. Theoldest monastery of Lamayuru is said to be sacred site of pre-Buddhist religion "Bon". Stipukl Monastry, Namgyal Tsemo Gompa, Sankar Gompa, Shey Gompa and Shanti Stupa (World Peace) are the main tourist spots of Leh. Leh Mosque: The eye-catching green and white Leh Mosque built in 1666-67 is an example of astonishing work of Turko-Iranian architecture. It is lies in the Main Bazaar of Leh. Stok Palace Museum: Located 17kms from Leh town, the Stok Palace Museum displays precious stones, coins, royal crowns and dresses and prayer instruments.

The Nubra Valley: Nubra Valley known as flowering den is cladded with yellow bushes and pink roses. Other Places: pangong Lake, Jo-Khang, a Buddhist Temple, Chang Gali, Changspa Village, Sabu village etc.

Kargil: Kargilsituated at the height of 2704m is the second largest urban centre of Ladakh. It is almost at the mid of the Srinagar and the Leh highway. Kargil is the only Muslim majority of ladakh. It acts as a base for the tourists coming for adventure tours in the heart of Himalayas. 45kms from kargil is an area called Mulbek. Situated on the banks of Wakha River, Mulbek is a Buddhist dominated area. Monuments of early Buddhist era are found here. Sightseeing of Mulbek includes a trip to Mulbek Chamba(9 meters high rock sculpture of Future Buddha), Mulbek Gompa (monastery) , Shergol (a picturesque village), Urgyan Dzong(natural mountain fortress) and Wakha Rgyal.

Zanskar: Zanskar is a town covering 7000sq. km at a height between 3500-7000 meters above sea level. It is one of the remotest places to reach in the world as it can't be accessed for 8months due to heavy snowfall and bitter cold. It can be rightly called a cold semi-desert surrounded by the mountains. The town is cut through by Zanskar River which is one the world best places for river rafting.
