About Aizawl

Located to the north of Tropic of Cancer, Aizawl is the capital of the state and a famous cultural center. The city is also the hub of government offices, civil secretariat and state assembly house. Situated at an elevation of 1,132 metres (3715 ft) the city embraces the Tuirial river valley & Tlawng river valley in the east & west respectively. Mizo is the official language of the people whereas English is widely used in education, administration, formalities and governance.

With Football being the most popular sport in the entire state, the city of Aizawl is housed with numerous sport facilities.

Vantawng Water Falls :

Vantawng Waterfalls are largest, highest and most spectacular falls in the state. Nestled by the lush bamboo groves forests, the waterfall is 750 feet high.

 

Palak Lake :

The Lake is spread across 13 hectares of land and is easily accessible from Aizawl. This beautiful attraction houses a wide variety of wild duck, Fish and crab. The forest that surrounds this lake is home to various wild animals such as tiger, bear, deer, wild pig and many more.

 

Mizoram State Museum :

The Mizoram State Museum provides a clear insight into the traditions, culture and history of the state and its people. The most awesome array of objects is housed in the museum that leaves every visitor amazed.

 

Champhai :

The bustling town of Champhai is a perfect spot for trekkers. The region offers the most amazing views of the nearby Myanmar hills that lush with greenery and fauna. Located at a few kilometers from this town is the traditional village of the Mizos known as Ruantlang.

Solomon's Temple Complex, Chawlhhmun was constructed by Kohran Thianghlim in the year 1984. The religious shrine is the only masterpiece in the entire state to be made from marble.
