Day-By-Day Itinerary

Bangalore | Hospet | Bijapur | Badami | Hubli

Day 1: Arrive at Bangalore - Hospet First destination on this Explore Northern Karnataka tour will be Bangalore, the IT powerhouse city. From Bangalore you will be driven to Hospet via overnight train.

Day 2: Hospet Disembark your overnight train in the morning when you arrive at Hospet. You will find our representative awaiting you at the station from where you will be escorted to a hotel in Hospet/ Hampi. Situated on the Tungabhadra River and a swift drive away from its famous capital of Vijaynagar, Hampi is visited by horde of visitors to see World Heritage Site of relics of medieval city of Vijaynagar. The relics are well preserved and are reminiscent of the golden age of mighty emperors and their splendid kingdoms. For overnight stay return to the hotel in Hospet.

Day 3: Hospet - Bijapur Depart early for a drive to Bijapur. On arrival, visit Gol Gumbaz - Muhammed Adil Shah's mausoleum that has the second largest dome in the world. Built in 1659 by famous architect Yaqut of Dabul the mausoleum covers biggest single chamber spaces in the world, which is fifth larger than Pantheon in Rome. After visit to this historic marvel resume the journey to reach your hotel at Bijapur; once you check-in return for a sightseeing tour of the region. In the evening, visit Ibrahim Roza is the much applauded dome of illustrious Adil Shahi Sultan Ibrahim II. Lavishly built with elegant cupolas and minarets it is a significant landmark in the region. Next visit Malik-e- Maidan which is placed on the city walls and is one of the largest surviving bell-metal canons in whole of the world. Continue with the tour further and visit Bara Kaman and Jamia Masjid. Built in 1686 the structure of the mosque is famed for its sober and massive structure.

Day 4: Bijapur - Badami Today depart for a visit to Aihole- a popular temple complex renowned for being cradle of ancient Hindu temple architecture. The classic architecture is Chalukas architecture style and its rock cut shrines are simply awe-inspiring. Also pay visit to Pattadakal to see group of 8th century CE monuments. Designated as World Heritage Sites these monuments are appreciated for their Dravidian and Nagara styles of temple architecture.

Resume the journey thereafter and reach Badami where on arrival you will be checking into the hotel booked for overnight stay. In the evening, visit Badami cave temples. Stunning ancient cave temples are carved out of sandstone hills at Badami were built in 6th to 7th centuries.

Day 5: Badami- Hubli- Bangalore Today begin your journey homewards. From Badami you will be driven up to Hubli from where you will take up another journey to Bangalore.
