Day-By-Day Itinerary

Udaipur | Chittorgarh | Pushkar | Bikaner | Jaisalmer | Jodhpur

Day 1: Delhi – Udaipur (By Flight)
Upon your arrival at the airport, meet our representative awaiting just outside the arrival hall, past the customs area & currency shops. You will immediately embark your journey to the capital of the erstwhile Kingdom of Mewar- Udaipur. After reaching Udaipur, check-in at the Hotel.

The medieval city of Udaipur is one of the most romantic cities in India, it’s beautiful Palaces are mirrored in the calm waters of Lake Pichola & the city is a brilliant kaleidoscope of narrow lanes flanked by bright stalls, gardens, lakes, palaces & temples. Laced with scenic lakes, Udaipur is truly an oasis in the middle of desert region of Rajasthan. Its magnificence and splendour is further enhanced with the presence of various grand edifices reminiscent of the splendid era of royalty. Enjoy a leisurely late afternoon cruise on the shimmering waters of Lake Pichola.

Udaipur has countless small shops and many interesting local craft, particularly paintings in the Rajput - Moghul style there's a good cluster of these shops on Lake Palace Road, next to the Rang Niwas Palace Hotel, and others around the Jagdish Temple which you can explore on an evening walk.

Day 2: Udaipur The breathtaking beauty of the lakes - Pichola & Fateh Sagar & the magnificent structures built around them, impress every visitor to Udaipur. The city has been voted the best tourist destination in the world in multiple traveller surveys.

Wander through the opulent City Palace grounds and the museum. Overlooking Lake Pichola, City Palace complex has several beauteous structures showcasing a blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architectures. Visit the Jagdish temple on the shores of Lake Pichola a large Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple situated on a raised terrain was built in 1651 and forms a beautiful pyramidal shape. A visit to the temple will not only be of religious experience, but will also impress you with the architectural brilliance of the age of royalty. Also explore other fascinating sites such as Gulab Bagh and Pratap Memorial before you retire to your room in the hotel late in the evening.

Day 3: Udaipur - Chittorgarh (Driving Time: 2 hrs)
After breakfast, leave Udaipur for Chittorgarh. The city known for folklores of bravery and sacrifice, Chittorgarh is home to the largest fort of India. While exploring the city you will come across various interesting scenes with people in vibrant attires, men flaunting their moustaches and women donning beautiful silver jewellery. The most fascinating sight however is that of Chittorgarh Fort visible virtually from all parts of the city. The fort precinct is studded with stunning palaces, grand gates, temples and two prominent towers. The region is also dotted with numerous other historic monuments such as Vijay Stambh; this is a giant nine storey tower built to commemorate Mahrana Kumbha’s victory over Muslim rulers of Malwa and Gujarat. Once you explore the stunning edifice move towards Kirti Stambh; dedicated to Adinath the first Jain Tirthankar this tower is of high significance for followers of Jainism. Then you will be directed to Rana Kumbha’s Palace; walking in the alleys of the palace you will have shivers down your spines as you will be witnessing one of the cruel pages of history. This is the place where Rani Padmini and other royal ladies committed jauhar in one of the underground cellars.

Day 4: Chittorgarh – Pushkar (Driving Time: 4 hrs)
After breakfast, leave for Pushkar. Pushkar is a sacred town for the Hindu and is situated about 11kms northwest of Ajmer. The prime attractions are Brahma Temple, Pushkar Lake, Savitri Temple etc. Take a brief moment to explore Pushkar, one of the five sacred dhams (pilgrimage sites) of Hindus. Perched on the banks of River Pushkar it is one of the oldest cities of India and is laced with various temples. The cattle festival of Pushkar is one of its kinds which have made the city a renowned tourist destination in India. Explore the city and then check in your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 5: Pushkar – Bikaner (Driving Time: 5 hrs)
After breakfast, leave for Bikaner, a remote town tucked away in the Thar Desert. A medieval labyrinth of narrow streets opens up to stunning dark-red sandstone havelis and some exquisite Jain temples. The desert town continues to impress with its imposing fort and increased popularity of camel safaris.

Take a trip to massive Junagarh Fort, the 5.28 hectares large precinct of the fort is laced with impressive palaces, exquisite temples and pavilions. Laxmi Niwas Palace is the next highlight of the city tour. The palace built in Indo-Saracenic style is also a luxury hotel and thus provides an opportunity to live life King size. Also visit the Camel Breeding Farm, an institute for research work on camels. The research institute houses a camel museum, which is a tourist attraction.

Day 6: Bikaner After breakfast, leave for the city tour of Bikaner. Explore the region and first visit Ganga Golden Jubilee Museum. The huge mansion of this museum is a storehouse of some of the most amazing collections of history, artworks culptures, war weaponry and more. Later pay homage to Mata Karni where thousands of sacred rats are fed by temple priests and are considered blessed. Also visit one of the oldest temples in Bikaner, the Laxmi Nath Temple.

Visit the bazaars of Bikaner which is famous for Mojari (Bikaneri style), rangi dupatta, Kundan work, wooden antiques, Haldirams (Rasgulas, bhujia), Lacquer Bangles, carpet making. The exquisite works of art made out of camel hides is famous of Bikaner. You can also enjoy the Camel Safari. Dinner and overnight stay in Hotel.

Day 7: Bikaner – Jaisalmer (Driving Time: 7 hrs)
After breakfast, leave for Jaisalmer. A Golden City echoing stories of valor and wars for honor, Jaisalmer bedazzles its visitors with its magnificent fort and exquisite mirror work and embroidery. Crowned by Jaisalmer Fort the city also offers lots to be seen including museums and havelis. In the evening you can enjoy various attractions like Jaisalmer Fort, Patwon - ki - Haveli etc.

Day 8: Jaisalmer After breakfast, treat yourself to a visual feast as you tour the golden city of Jaisalmer. Hewn entirely out of sandstone, the city is a tawny colour in the day and at sunset it magically morphs into honey-gold hue. Afternoon drive to Khuri, a quaint village with clusters of thatch roof houses. On the sand dunes here, take a sunset ride through the scrubland of Rajasthan on a camel safari that is a lifetime experience. Later in the evening take an excursion to Sam - 45 kms away, which is known for its sand dunes & is the venue for the Desert festival. Get the real feel of the desert by enjoying a camel ride on the sand dunes.

Visit Jaisalmer’s colourful bazaars which are famous for embroidery, Rajasthani mirror work, rugs, blankets, old stonework and antique. The dye and other fabrics are made at Khadi Bhandar, north of the city.

Day 9: Jaisalmer – Jodhpur (Driving Time: less than 6 hrs)
This morning leave for Jodhpur. The city painted in blue, Jodhpur is the renowned Blue City of Rajasthan. Featuring various forts, palaces and temples in the middle of stark landscape of Thar Desert, Jodhpur paints the region in the colour of royalty. The houses painted in blue colour around and the vibrant bazaars add joviality to the deserted region. Evening free to explore Jodhpur and leisure activities.

Day 10: Jodhpur After breakfast, leave for the city tour of Jodhpur. It will include Mehran Garh Fort, Jaswant Thada, Umaid Bhawan Palace, Sardar Government Museum, Mandore gardens etc. Afternoon visit the Mehrangarh Fort, which literally means "Majestic Fort", located at the very centre of the city. Close to the fort complex lies this white marble cenotaph, built in 1899, in commemoration of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. At the foot of the fort, lies the "Jaswanth Thada", a richly carved white marble cenotaph. Take an afternoon jeep safari to the picturesque Bishnoi village to experience rustic Rajasthani life. The drive through the countryside abounds with black bucks and chinkaras grazing serenely and migratory birds dot the skies. Also visit the Clock Tower - the city centre.

The Colourful Girdikot and Sardar Market markets with tiny shops dotting the narrow lanes are situated in the heart of the city and are popular for a wide range of handicrafts, making them the favorite haunt of shoppers.

Day 11: Jodhpur – Delhi (By Flight)
Today we take a flight to Delhi. Rest of the day will be free at leisure/shopping. Later in the evening you will be transferred to International Airport to catch onward flight back home.
