Day-By-Day Itinerary

Ranikhet | Kausani | Almora | Nainital

Day 1: Delhi – Ranikhet (Driving Time: 7 hrs)
The voyage begins with an exciting road journey past numerous enchanting views of verdant Kumaon . The drive starts from Delhi to take you to Ranikhet. Rolling green hills and the distant views of Himalayas tucked in the background with a distinct old-school military atmosphere, Ranikhet is all that inspires and soothes the onlooker’s eyes. As you walk through the town you come across English trees lined systematically, busy bazaars selling cute curios and some peaceful lanes perfect for long nature walks. At 6000 feet, it is a serene and peaceful hill station foreshadowed by conifer forests and surrounded by snow clad Himalayan ranges. Ranikhet also offers golfing at the 9 hole Army Course besides being known for the orchards of Chaubatia and Jhoola Devi Temple.

Day 2: Ranikhet After breakfast the day is free to explore the beauty of the place. Dwarahat is a holy place located about 7 kms from Ranikhet. It is located amidst a beautiful valley. The Ramganga River that flows through Dwarahat is famous for its cluster of 55 temples of the Katyuni period. This is one of the places where Katyuni Kings ruled in the ancient period.

Day 3: Ranikhet – Kausani (Driving Time: less than 2 hrs)
On this day you will be leaving for Kasauni. Marked by exceptional beauty, Kausani is nestled at an elevation of 1890 metres with lots and lots of scenic pleasure and charm. From Kausani you can sight individual snow-capped peaks of Himalayas. The hills draped in pine and oak forests and the region nurturing orchards of succulent apple, peace and pears. The beauty is worth being admired and the scenery is apt for nature walks. So enjoy full day amidst enchanting panorama at Kausani.

Day 4: Kausani – Almora (Driving Time: 1hr)
From Kausani on an hour’s drive is Almora, a sprawling regional capital of Kumaon. An exceptionally beautiful place that is referred as the 'Switzerland of India', Almora is perfectly defined by three adjectives; romance, charm and serenity. As you arrive here you are taken for a sightseeing tour of the famous and beautiful spots of Almora. On the city tour explore Bright End Corner for stunning sunset and sunrise views; built to commemorate Swami Vivekananda’s visit to the region this place now has a small library stocked with books on spirituality. Next explore Deer park and Chitai Temple- characterized by horde of bells hanging in the premises to serve as offering to the lord on fulfillment of one’s wish and Katarmal which is across the river Koshi. Here is the only sun temple in this part of Kumaon. Evening at Almora will be free for leisure activities.

Day 5: Almora After breakfast guests will leave for the excursion trip to Binsar and encompass around 22 kms to finally reach the place. The day is free for exploring Binsar where you will first encounter the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary; perched on the top of Jhandi Dhar Hills the sanctuary is epitome of tranquility and also houses abundant of alpine flora, ferns, exotic flowers and more. Conclude the journey with visits to Jageshwar Temple and Patal Bhuvaneshwar (underground cave complex) etc.

Day 6: Almora – Nainital (Driving Time: 2 hrs)
Leave for Nainital next where on arrival the day will be free to explore the beauty of the place. It offers an excellent view of the northern Himalayan ranges. Its placid Naini Lake, pretty temples, busy bazaars and the stunning Himalayan peaks at a distance makes gorgeous panorama. It is also known as `Lake Paradise’. In its beautiful `lakes’, option of boating through yachts, paddle boats and traditional rowing boats are available.

Day 7: Nainital The sightseeing tour of Nainital will take you to numerous famed destinations starting from Nanda Devi Temple; situated on the northern shore of the Naini Lake it is the most sacred temple of the region. Pick your boat and go boating on the crystal clear waters of Naini Lake. Optionally you may also take the cable car ride to the hill top in Nainital. Fabrics and woollen garments are the most popular items for shopping in Nainital. Hang out at the teeming shops at the mall for shopping in Nainital. The shops are replete with artifacts and souvenirs from various parts of Uttarakhand.

Day 8: Nainital – Delhi (Driving Time: around 7 hrs)
Morning after breakfast set on a 7 hours long drive to Delhi. On arrival you will be transferred to airport/railway station for your journey back home.
