Day-By-Day Itinerary

Bharatpur | Pushkar | Jaipur | Ranthambore

Day 1: Delhi - Bharatpur (Driving Time: 4 hrs)
Upon your arrival at the airport, meet our representative awaiting just outside the arrival hall, past the customs area & currency shops. You will immediately embark your journey to the quaint hamlet, Bharatpur. The drive will take you through the rural regions of Rajasthan as you will notice a unique character and charm of life at Indian villages from your windowpane. On arrival check into a forest lodge situated in close proximity to Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary. Rest of the day is spent according to your interests.

Day 2: Bharatpur - Sariska - Bharatpur Bharatpur is known for its World Heritage bird sanctuary, the Keoladeo Ghana National Park, a haven and home to over 400 kinds of birds and many other migratory species. Famous for avifauna and highly endangered species of birds such as Siberian Crane the park is a paradise for ornithologists. The style of wildlife viewing here is a highlight in itself, as you travel by bicycle or a cycle-rickshaw with a local guide who is an expert on the flora and fauna of the park.

Afternoon, an exciting jeep drive to the Sariska sanctuary awaits you. Surrounded by beauteous valleys, hills and deep forests that change color in different seasons Sariska National Park is a heaven of a place. It is the home to an exotic variety of wild animals and beautiful birds. Spot golden deer dart, wild cat, tigers, pirouette and more species of flora and fauna prospering together in perfect harmony. Later in the evening return back to your hotel in Bhagalpur.

Day 3: Bharatpur - Pushkar (Driving Time: 5.5 hrs)
After breakfast, leave for Pushkar. Pushkar is a sacred town for the Hindu and is situated about 11kms northwest of Ajmer. The prime attractions are Brahma Temple, Pushkar Lake, Savitri Temple etc. Take a brief moment to explore Pushkar, one of the five sacred dhams (pilgrimage sites) of Hindus. Perched on the banks of River Pushkar it is one of the oldest cities of India and is laced with various temples. The cattle festival of Pushkar is one of its kinds which have made the city a renowned tourist destination in India. Later in the day visit the banks of the pristine Pushkar Lake and explore numerous Hindu temples here. Also, don’t miss out on the Brahma Temple in the region; dating back to 14th century the temple is believed to be 2000 years old and has been reworked upon frequently. The glimpse of the holy shrine in the waters of Pushkar Lake is as beautiful as the temple itself. Enjoy a peaceful time here before you head for a visit to the famous camel fair.

Day 4: Pushkar - Jaipur (Driving Time: 2.5 hrs)
After breakfast proceed for a drive to Jaipur. En-route visit hilltop fortress of Amber. A small trek up the hill will be covered while riding an elephant in the royal manner. The fort was built in 1592 under the reign of Raja Man Singh and was later modified by successive rulers for next 150 years. Today the structure stands with its beautifully carved ceilings, intricate patterns and stunning designs. Walk a little ahead to visit the stunning Kanak Vrindavan Temple just adjacent to the fort. Thereafter resume your journey towards the Pink City of Jaipur where on arrival you will be accommodated in a hotel for overnight stay.

Day 5: Jaipur On this day tour the old walled city of Jaipur. First on the city tour you will visit Jantar Mantar observatory. Built by Maharaja Jai Singh II it consists of fourteen major geometric devices for measuring time and predicting eclipses etc. Stunning City Palace will be the next destination on this city tour. City Palace is a complex of various palaces in Jaipur which is an erstwhile seat of Maharaja of the region. Drive-by the stunning Hawa Mahal- a palace with hundreds of ornamental windows, built for royal ladies to be able to watch the daily processions of city. The evening can be spent in the colorful local bazaars where one can shop for beautiful handicrafts.

Day 6: Jaipur-Ranthambore (Driving Time: 2.5 hrs)
This morning, drive to Ranthambore Tiger Sanctuary, that homes over 300 species of birds. You will be accompanied by a naturalist into the park for evening safari on an exclusive jeep. Situated in Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan the park was declared a sanctuary in 1955 and became a national park in 1980. Ranthambore Wildlife Sanctuary is renowned for high density of tiger populations and is surely one of the best places to spot the majestic predators in action. Other wild creatures that have made the park their home include leopards, nilgai, wild boar, sambar, sloth bear, hyena and chital and varied species of birds and reptiles. Follow the trails of wilderness for exciting game viewing and wait for the call of the wilds to track their location for a perfect exhilarating wildlife safari. Following dinner there may be a slideshow and an orientation talk about the park and it's wildlife by the lodge staff.

Day 7: Ranthambore Tiger Reserves Early morning a jeep safari into the park which is one of the finest tiger reserves in the country. You may like to spend the afternoon visiting nearby temples and famous sites. Also visit the Ranthambore Fort, regarded as one of the oldest forts of Rajasthan. Now mostly in ruins the fort is characterized by its temples, tanks, massive gates and huge walls. You will have another opportunity in the afternoon for tiger spotting during your second safari of the day.

Day 8: Ranthambore - Delhi (Driving Time: 8.5 hrs)
Today we take a flight to Delhi. Rest of the day will be free at leisure/shopping. Later in the evening you will be transferred to International Airport to catch onward flight back home.
