
Vaishno Devi shrine is nestled on the top of Trikuta Hills, 61 Kms north of Jammu. Mahakali, Mahalakshmi and Mahasarasvati the three forms of the mother goddess – are at the end of 30 meters long cave. This cave is just one and a half meters high.
The shrine of Vaishno Devi is approached from Katra, which is 13 KM from the shrine and is the base for the pilgrimage. Every year lakhs of people visit Vaishno Devi.
The Vaishno Devi shrine is visited all through the year, but it is advised that yatra would be bit difficult in peak winters due to snowfall.
To go on Vaishno devi yatra, you required to registered at the Yatra Registration Counter at the Tourism Reception Centre located at the Katra Bus Stand. The Yatra Slip is free but mandatory to commence the Yatra.
